އެރޭ އަހުމަދު އުޅުނީ އެއްގޮތަކަށް ވެސް ނިދާށެވެ. ހާރުކާން ހޭނުލެވިދާނެތީއެވެ. ނިދަން އޮށޯތީ އެތައް ވަރަކަށް ކިޔައިގެންނެވެ. ހާރުކާން ގޮވާނޭކަމަށް ގޭ އެންމެން ލައްވާ ވަޢުދު ކުރުވާފައެވެ. މަންމަ ލައްވައެވެ. ބައްޕަ ލައްވައެވެ. ނުވީތާކަށް މާމަ ލައްވައި ވެސް މެއެވެ.
އެހެން ރޭރޭ އެނދުގައި ޖެހޭއިރު ނިދިފައި އޮންނަ އަހުމަދަށް، އެރޭ ނިދުނީ ވެސް، އެތައް އިރަކު އޮވެގެންނެވެ. ނިދި ނައީއެވެ. ހާރުކާން ނުހޭލެވިދާނެއޭ ހިތަށް އަރާވަރުންނެވެ. ރޯދަހިފާ ހިތްވާލެއް ބޮޑުކަމުންނެވެ. ކޮންމެއަކަސް އެތައް އިރެއްގެ ހޭކުމަކާއި، ފުރޮޅުމަކަށްފަހު، އެންމެފަހުން އެ ފަކީރަށް ނިދުނީ އެގާރަގަޑި ބައިވެ ބޮޑުވިފަހުންނެވެ.
ހާރުދަމުގެ ވަގުތެވެ. ގަޑިން ތިނެއް ޖަހައިފިއެވެ. އަހުމަދުގެ މަންމައާއި ބައްޕައާއި މާމަ ވެސް ހޭލައިފިއެވެ. މަންމައާއި މާމަ ވަނީ ބަދިގެއަށެވެ. ހާރުކާން ތައްޔާރު ކުރާށެވެ. ބައްޕަ ވަނީ ފާޚާނާއަށެވެ. އަހުމަދު އޮތީ ގަދަ ނިދީގައެވެ. ބައްޕަ ފާޚާނާއިން ނިކުމެ އަހުމަދަށް ގޮވައިލިއެވެ.

ބައްޕަގެ އަނގައިގައި ބޮޑުބައި އޮއްވާ، އަހުމަދު ކުއްލިއަކަށް ލޯ ހުޅުވާލައިފިއެވެ. ހަމަ އެ ސިކުންތުގައި ފުންމައިގެން ތެދުވެއްޖެއެވެ. ހީވީ ލަނބާ އަޅުވާފައި ހުރި ދިއްގާދަނޑިއެއް ދޫކޮށްލިހެންނެވެ. ތެދުވިއިރު ނިދީގެ ކަންފުޅެއް ވެސް ދެ ލޮލުގައި ނެތެވެ. ހާރުކާން ގޮވައިލާނޭ އިރެއްގެ އިންތިޒާރުގައި ނުނިދާ އޮތްކަހަލައެވެ.
“އަވަހަށް ހިނގާ ދަތް އުނގުޅަން! ހާރުކާ ގަޑި ޖެހިއްޖެ!” ހިނިއައި ނަމަވެސް، އެކަން ނުދައްކަން މަސައްކަތް ކުރަމުން ބައްޕަ ބުންޏެވެ.
އަހުމަދު ފާޚާނާއަށް ވަދެއްޖެއެވެ. ހާރުކާންވާއިރަށް ދަތް އުނގުޅާށެވެ. ބުރުގައި ބޭސްޖަހާފައި، އަހުމަދު އަތަށް ދިނުމަށްފަހު، ފާޚާނާއިން ނިކުތުމަށް ބައްޕަ ހިނގައިގަތެވެ.

ވީ ކީއްކަމެއް ވެސް ނޭނގުނެވެ. އަހުމަދުގެ ލޮލުން ކަރުނަ އޮހިގެންފިއެވެ. އެވަގުތު ފެނުނީ، ކުއްލިއަކަށް މާމަގެ ދެ ލޯ، ބޮޑު ދެ ކާށިކިބައާ ވާދަކޮށްލިތަނެވެ.

“ހާރުކާން ދަތްއުނގުޅާގޮތެއް ނޭނގޭ!” ތުރުތުރު އަޅަމުންދިޔަ އަޑަކުން މަންމަގެ ކަންފަތްދޮށުގައި އަހުމަދު ބުނެލި ސިއްރު، ބައްޕައާއި މާމަގެ ކަންފަތާ ހަމައަށް ވެސް ފޯރައިފިއެވެ.
